The Phoenix Suns have identified Pau Gasol as a possible target and are eager to begin negotiations with the Los Angeles Lakers, according to a report.
Phoenix, who are keen to add quality to their roster as they look to secure a spot in the playoffs, have space in their salary cap to bring Gasol to the US Airways Center.
The Suns are considering entering trade talks with the Lakers, who could sign Emeka Okafor as part of a deal before possibly waiving the 31-year-old to make room for new additions, according to ESPN.
Four-time All-Star Gasol has averaged 17 points per game this season for the Lakers.
A deal will need to be agreed before the trade deadline on February 20.
