San Antonio Spurs point guard Patty Mills has reportedly undergone surgery to help deal with a shoulder injury, which could rule the proposed free agent out for around seven months.
The injury could potentially harm his prospects as he looks to agree a new deal with an NBA side, although a number of rumours have already suggested that Mills will end up re-signing with the Spurs come July 10.
A source close to the player told The AP that Mills underwent an operation in Dallas to repair a torn rotator cuff in his right shoulder, with no specific timetable given regarding his return to action.
Mills went down in San Antonio folklore last season as he scored 17 points in their game five clash with the Miami Heat, ultimately handing the Spurs the NBA Championship.
