Utah Jazz forward Trevor Booker has reportedly been handed a one-game suspension for striking Los Angeles Lakers center Roy Hibbert in a pre-season game on Tuesday night.
A foul from Booker sparked an angry reaction from Hibbert, but it was the Jazz forward who reacted with a swing of the arm to catch his rival's face.
The officials in the game, which the Jazz won 117-114 in overtime, decided to hand Booker a double technical foul and eject him but the NBA has decided to take more action, according to Yahoo Sports.
As league rules stipulate, the 27-year-old will serve the suspension in a regular-season game, which means that the Jazz are likely to be without him for their opener against the Detroit Pistons on October 28.
Booker averaged 7.9 points across 79 games last season.
