Washington Wizards point guard John Wall has sat down and discussed his role with coach Randy Wittman after suggestions that the players were trying too much.
Wall scored 28 points with 11 rebounds and 10 assists in the overtime loss to the Boston Celtics on Wednesday, but he wasn't entirely happy with either his individual performance or that of the team.
"John's a competitor. I sat down and talked with him. It's not a malicious thing. He wanted to try to take over the game for us. Sometimes you try so hard it's counterproductive," Wittman said, CSN Washington reports.
Wall shot just 9-for-29 from the field and committed six turnovers in the loss, as the Wizards slipped to 20-21 for the season.
