Lorenz Peter Petutschnig and Tobias Winter have insisted that they "can beat anyone" after they defeated Polish pair Maciej Kosiak and Maciej Rudol in the men's beach volleyball round of 16.
Petutschnig, 22, and Winter, 21, triumphed 2-0 (21-17, 21-19) to book their place in the quarter-finals.
"It means a lot. We came here with not a lot of confidence after a tough season. In the first match we were insecure, in the second we gained confidence, now we have a lot," Petutschnig told reporters.
"We want to make the semi-finals. Poland was one of the best teams here, it means we can beat everyone. We want a medal."
The Austrian duo will now face Alexei Strasser and Gabriel Kissling of Switzerland on centre court this afternoon.
