Light welterweight finalist Collazo Sotomayor has insisted that he will be "aiming at gold" when he boxes in the final at the European Games in Baku later today.
The Azerbaijan fighter beat Ukraine's Viktor Petrov in the semi-final to guarantee at least a silver medal for the host nation, setting up a meeting with Italy's Vincenzo Mangiacapre this afternoon.
The 30-year-old told reporters: "During the bout I did all that my coach taught me and more. My opponent had a very good preparation, so it wasn't easy. I have never fought against him before. Thanks to God for helping me win.
"I have never fought against [Mangiacapre] before, but I was watching his bouts, analysing his tactics, so I am more or less prepared for the finals. And of course I am aiming at gold."
Azerbaijan sit second in the medal table, having won 14 gold medals so far.
