Team England welterweight Scott Fitzgerald has comfortably made it past the first round at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow with a knockout victory over Ron Bastien of St Lucia.
He forced his opponent into a standing count right at the start with a huge punch, but the St Lucian survived to manage some decent blows of his own.
In the second round Bastien was again rocked with some big hooks from the Englishman, and the man from Preston was rarely threatened before he landed a knockout blow to stop the fight in the third round.
In a previous fight, Northern Ireland hopeful Michael Conlan eased past Nauru teenager Mathew Martin on points.
