Satoshi Shimizu Japan's Satoshi Shimizu has sent Ghana's Isaac Dogboe packing due to a close 10-9 victory in their bantamweight encounter.
It was the Ghanaian who looked the more spritely from the first bell and did not allow Shimizu a moment's rest.
Despite his sizeable height disadvantage, Dogboe was landing rights and lefts to the head to go 4-3 up after the first round.
Shimizu grew into the contest in the second round and began to find his target as Dogboe became more erratic going forward.
By the end of the second, Shimizu had started to let fly, but had to come out swinging in the final round as he looked to overturn a two-point deficit.
Dogboe was flagging in the last round as Shimizu pressed him around the ring.
The Ghanaian caught Shimizu with a few decent shots off the back foot, but the Japanese man's work-rate caught the judges' eyes, who awarded him a narrow one-point win.
