WBO lightweight champion Ricky Burns has revealed that he has been given permission to return to training.
Burns suffered a broken jaw during his draw against Raymundo Beltran last month, but while he is unable to take part in any sparring sessions, the Scot has been told that he can take part in light training.
The 30-year-old posted on his official Twitter account: "Was at hospital last week and jaws getting there. Can resume light training but still no boxing for a few weeks."
The two-weight world champion is expected back in the ring early in 2014, with a rematch against Beltran in Glasgow potentially on the cards.
