WBO lightweight champion Ricky Burns will defend his title on January 26 after he decided to opt out of an exhibition fight this weekend.
Burns saw world title challenger Jose Ocampo pull out of their proposed bout in London before making the decision not to participate in a 10-round exhibition fight.
Manager Alex Morrison told BBC Radio Scotland: "We looked at a few names but Ricky has decided not to fight.
"It's a shame as he's trained over the last two months to defend his title."
"He'll now take a week off before getting back into the gym to prepare for his fight in the new year."
Burns has won 35 of his 37 professional fights.
