Doctors in Puerto Rico have announced that former three-weight world champion Hector Camacho is 'clinically brain dead' after being shot in the face during a gun attack on Tuesday night.
The 50-year-old was sitting in a car in Bayamon when a gunman approached and shot through the window, hitting Camacho in the face and killing the person in the passenger seat.
Camacho was then rushed to hospital where he was said to be in a critical yet stable condition, but Sky Sports News have now reported that doctors have given up hope of reviving him.
It is believed that his family have now been given the option of turning off his life-support machine, but remain undecided.
