Anthony Crolla expecting "explosive" fight against Darleys Perez

British lightweight Anthony Crolla reveals that he is expecting an "explosive" fight against WBA champion Darleys Perez on Saturday night.

British lightweight Anthony Crolla has predicted that his WBA title showdown with Darleys Perez could turn into a "dogfight".

In July, Crolla was controversially denied victory after judges scored his first bout with the champion as a draw, despite many believing that the Mancunian had done enough for the win.

After being granted a rematch, Crolla gets his second opportunity in front of his home fans on Saturday night, and the former British title holder is confident that he can execute the tactics required to see off his Colombian opponent.

The 29-year-old told Sky Sports News: "This time I feel the fight will be more explosive, with more exchanges and could end up being a bit of a dog-fight at times. It'll be entertaining for the fans and viewers at home.

"I've got a second bite of the cherry on Saturday and with the controversy surrounding last time and everyone believing I'd done enough to win a world title, I'm going to make sure I go out there and do that.

"We're just tweaking a few things here and there. We don't want to come with exactly the same fight as we did last time because that would be a bit ignorant to fight a world-class fighter like Perez."

Crolla has won 29 of his 36 matches in the paid ranks, while Perez has suffered just one defeat in 34 outings.
