Carl Froch: 'George Groves will freeze on the night'

Carl Froch thinks that George Groves will freeze on the big stage when they go head to head in front of 80,000 fans at Wembley on Saturday.

Carl Froch believes that George Groves will buckle under the pressure of fighting in front of 80,000 at Wembley on Saturday evening.

The pair meet in a rematch of their November 2013 clash, when Froch emerged victorious via a ninth-round stoppage.

Ahead of the second clash, which is the biggest post-war fight in British boxing history, 'The Cobra' has claimed that his opponent will freeze on the big stage.

The Daily Star quotes him as saying: "When I fought Jermain Taylor in my first defence in America, three months out, I thought I would be fine, I can beat him.

"The week before the fight, you land in America, and it dawns on you that you're fighting Jermain Taylor, he's fast, he hits hard. George has already boxed me, but the magnitude of the event potentially could be dawning on him.

"He's put himself in a position where he's told everyone that the first fight was a stonewall robbery. But he knows when he looked in the mirror the following morning, his face was swollen, he had two black eyes and a swollen lip and lumps all over his head."

Froch has lost just two of his 34 fights, with Mikkel Kessler and Andre Ward getting the better of the Nottingham scrapper.
