Tyson Fury reveals plans to headline a kickboxing show in Romania less than a month after his domestic heavyweight clash with David Haye.

British heavyweight contender Tyson Fury has confirmed that he intends to take part in a kickboxing bout in Romania next month, just a few weeks after his domestic fight with David Haye.

Fury will face Haye in an eagerly-anticipated heavyweight showdown on September 28, with both men hoping to secure a world title shot by claiming an eye-catching victory in Manchester.

Despite being deep into a training camp in Belgium focused on preparing for that clash, Fury has revealed that he is excited to try something new with a kickboxing debut on October 25 in Bucharest.

The 25-year-old has also insisted that he wants to challenge UFC heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez in the future, if a compromise can be found over rules for a crossover bout.

He told the Daily Mail: "I'm really excited about this. Almost as excited as I am by the prospect of beating Haye. Where we are in Belgium is kick-boxing country and my sponsor loves that as well as boxing.

"He asked if I would do this and I'm delighted. I've been boxing since I could walk but now I've got a new challenge. I enjoy new challenges. They keep me excited.

"I'm not only a boxer but a fighting man by birth and instinct. I meant it when I challenged Cain Velazquez and I hope that will take place, too, although he knows that would have to be an agreed form of upright fighting, without the wrestling on the floor."

Fury is yet to taste defeat in his professional boxing career, winning 15 of his 21 fights by way of stoppage.
