British heavyweight Tyson Fury has insisted that it is important he stay active despite holding the status of mandatory challenger for the WBO title.

Fury earned himself an opportunity to face Wladimir Klitschko in 2015 after stopping Dereck Chisora last month, but the Manchester fighter will put his world title spot on the line when defending the European strap at London's O2 Arena on February 28.

The 26-year-old told reporters: "I think that it's very important that I stay busy, but I have to preserve that mandatory position.

"It's very good for me to have a goal. Now I've got a date and a focus, I can prepare for this fight."

An opponent for Fury is expected to be named later in the week.
