Peter Fury has revealed that it wouldn't surprise him if David Haye withdrew from his February bout with Tyson Fury to fight for the world title.

Haye suffered an eye injury that forced their scheduled fight to be postponed, but despite a new date being signed for early next year, Tyson's uncle and trainer believes that Haye could be offered a chance against Alexander Povetkin, should the Russian defeat Wladimir Klitschko.

Fury told the Daily Mail: "If Povetkin does get the upset, then we won't be holding our breath about our fight with Haye happening on February 8.

"We know how they operate because they came to talk to us while they were preparing for a fight with Manuel Charr. But if they can get Povetkin, that will be even bigger money, plus there will be the world title on the line against a smaller opponent."

The world title encounter between Klitschko and Povetkin will take place on October 5.
