The judge at the centre of much furore due to her scoring of the high-profile bout between Gennady Golovkin and Canelo Alvarez reportedly burst into tears when reading social media reaction.
Adalaide Byrd controversially scored the world middleweight title fight at 118-110 in Alvarez's favour, despite Golovkin landing significantly more punches on his opponent.
Fellow judges Dave Moretti and Don Trella scored it at 115-113 and 114-114 respectively, meaning a split draw verdict at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
Byrd was accused by many of being corrupt because of the bizarre nature of the scoring but, according to The Mirror, a miscalculation was behind the error.
The American official, who has been stood down from major title fights for the foreseeable future, is said to have been left inconsolable after checking comments on her phone in the aftermath of the fight.
