George Groves: 'I feel rejuvenated ahead of Martin Murray clash'

British super-middleweight George Groves says that he has never felt as "strong and sharp" as he does for Saturday's showdown with Martin Murray.

British super-middleweight George Groves has predicted that opponent Martin Murray will be in "big trouble" when they meet at London's O2 Arena on Saturday night.

Since losing to WBC champion Badou Jack in September, Groves has joined forced with trainer Shane McGuigan and the three-time world title challenger has registered two routine wins since the start of the year.

He faces a significant step-up against Murray, who also fought for a world title against Arthur Abraham in November, but he has backed himself to see off the highly-regarded St Helens fighter on Saturday night.

The 28-year-old told Sky Sports News: "I've always been vicious mentally but, physically, I've struggled to get it off as good as I can do but this year I feel like a new man and Martin Murray is in a world of problems, he's in big trouble. I've never felt so big, so strong, I don't think I've ever hit so hard, never felt so sharp.

"It's all for this moment because this is the pinnacle fight for me. There are a lot of big plans on the horizon, certainly I can't afford to have a slip up on Saturday night and I don't envisage doing that."

Whoever prevails from this weekend's bout will move closer to a shot at the WBA title.
