David Haye has revealed that he wants to make himself a mandatory challenger for a world heavyweight title by fighting twice in 2013.
Haye announced his return to the sport on Thursday after failing to negotiate a bout with Vitali Klitschko, but the 32-year-old is hoping that two victories could set up a potential encounter in 2014.
The former WBA heavyweight champion told reporters: "I've been waiting for the phone to ring from Team Klitschko but it hasn't happened. Their path doesn't include me this year.
"Instead of sitting around waiting, I want to get back in there. People want me back and they'll be able to see it on June 29.
"I want to put myself in the position to take the world title."
Haye has not fought since he defeated Dereck Chisora inside five rounds last July.
