David Haye shares on Twitter that his domestic showdown with Tyson Fury is close to being rescheduled.

David Haye has revealed that a new date for his all-British heavyweight showdown with Tyson Fury is close to being finalised.

Haye was due to meet Fury in Manchester this weekend, but the highly-anticipated domestic dust-up had to be shelved after he sustained a cut in sparing last Friday.

With rumours regarding the clash widespread, Haye has used Twitter to share that he remains confident the bout will go ahead, with an official announcement imminent.

He tweeted: "Things are finally now looking up, as a rescheduled date for me to beat up Dyson Furry is very close to being officially made. :-)

"Thanks everyone for all your kind words of support. In these trying times,my spirits were low & ur good vibes kept me on track #ReSchedule."

Fury has also used Twitter to air his views on the postponed clash in the last 48 hours, with his latest post imploring fans not to miss the fight if it is successfully rescheduled.

He tweeted: "Make sure when I give mr excuse maker a sever beating which will be brutal. Boxing fans need to follow a real man not some ponce boxer."

January 25 has been mentioned as a potential new date for the scrap, with Mick Hennessy and Adam Booth currently aiming for a swift resolution in talks with Sky Sports.
