David Haye: 'Vitali Klitschko fight would be biggest in the world'

David Haye says that a fight with Vitali Klitschko would grab the attention of the entire world.

British fighter David Haye believes that a bout between Vitali Klitschko and himself would be the biggest in the world if it were to be sanctioned next year.

The former WBA world heavyweight champion lost to Vitali's brother Wladimir in an ill-fated title fight back in 2011.

However, Haye is adamant that a meeting with WBC title holder Vitali would capture the attention of the entire world.

"I said after that [Dereck Chisora fight] I'd only be interested in fighting for the heavyweight championship of the world," Haye told talkSPORT.

"Wladimir has said that he doesn't really want to fight me again. He's fought me once and beaten me fair and square, so I'd like to fight his brother Vitali Klitchsko for the WBC Heavyweight title. He's said on numerous occasions over the last couple of years that he wants to shut me up and he wants to knock me out. So I'd love to give him the opportunity to do that next year.

"I think it's the biggest fight in boxing now that Manny Pacquiao has been knocked out. That fight with [Floyd] Mayweather Jr. is not happening so there is no other fight out there in the world scene that would cause as much interest and intrigue as a fight between myself and Vitali Klitschko. Fingers crossed next year he doesn't retire and we can both come out there for one big extravaganza and I can win that heavyweight title."

Haye recently came third in I'm A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here.
