Eddie Hearn has confirmed that he will appeal to the WBO for Paul Smith to be given a rematch against Arthur Abraham.
The super-middleweight title fight was scored 117-111, 117-111, 119-109 in favour of Abraham in Germany, with many surprised by the wide margin of the victory for the Armenian.
Smith later claimed that he had been robbed, and Hearn is trying to get the Liverpudlian a second clash.
"We will be appealing to the WBO, not for an immediate rematch because we don't think that possible because we know how the system works," BoxingNews24 quotes Hearn as saying.
"But because we feel Paul Smith should be installed as the immediate mandatory for Arthur Abraham. He hasn't had a mandatory for a while.
"[The score] is just not right in the sport of boxing."
Smith has 35 wins from 39 fights.
