American welterweight Carson Jones has promised to dash Kell Brook's hopes of landing a world title shot when they meet inside the ring this Saturday.
The pair go head to head in Hull just over a year after Brook came out on top in a 12-round war in Sheffield to become number one contender for the IBF crown.
A fight with champion Devon Alexander was postponed for a third time in April, leading Matchroom Sport promoter Eddie Hearn to set up a rematch with Jones.
The Oklahoma-born boxer is confident of avenging that defeat, insisting that he sees the fear in Brook's eyes.
"I had Kell in all kinds of problems in Sheffield but he got away with it," Sky Sports News quotes Jones as saying. "I took four or five rounds to get started, but as soon as I did it was popping.
"This time I'll be on him from the start and there will be no escape route for him this time - I want that world title shot just as much as he does.
"Everybody keeps making excuses saying that he had stamina problems - he didn't have stamina problems, he had a Carson Jones problem. He's never had anybody up in his face before, and he really didn't know how to react to it. He looked a little scared to me."
Brook has fought once since defeating Jones, stopping Hector David Saldivia in the third round in October.
