British heavyweight Anthony Joshua has insisted that he is not placing too much emphasis on an early knockout against Jason Gavern on Saturday night.
Joshua has won his previous 10 professional encounters inside three rounds, but on his first appearance since November 22 due to a back injury, the Olympic gold medallist is targeting a win to set him up for a bout with Kevin Johnson on May 30.
The 25-year-old told Sky Sports News: "Saturday night, if I get the ring rust off and start the ball rolling, May 30 will be an explosive night in the O2.
"All is takes is one punch so I've got to be on my 'A' game. It's not a problem if I get the rounds under my belt and it's not a problem if I hurt him and get him out, looking good doing it.
"He's a very awkward opponent but I feel like I can go in and get the victory, but it's about looking good and how I do it. I'm glad to get the ball rolling."
American Gavern went four rounds with Deontay Wilder in August before Wilder won the WBC title early this year.
