British heavyweight Anthony Joshua dismisses opponent Matt Skelton's claims that he could be the "next Audley Harrison".

British heavyweight Anthony Joshua has warned opponent Matt Skelton not to make comparisons with fellow Olympic gold medallist Audley Harrison.

Skelton has questioned whether Joshua is being over-hyped in the same manner as Harrison was after his success in Sydney as he continues to make his way in the professional ranks, but Joshua, who won gold at London 2012, has insisted that he is a different fighter to the former European champion.

The 24-year-old told Sky Sports News: "I take that as the utmost respect. Audley has done a lot for boxing, Olympic gold medallist, he opened the doors for the likes of myself and Luke Campbell, Nicola Adams, the whole Team GB.

"But at the end of the day, we're different fighters and if he's comparing me to Audley, he's in for a world of shock, because we're completely different fighters and that's just how it goes.

"We're got different styles, I'm a different man and I'm going to bring something different to the table."

The clash between Joshua and Skelton is one of the headline bouts taking place on Matchroom Sport's 'Collision Course' show, which takes place at Liverpool's Echo Arena on Saturday night.
