Amir Khan has responded to racial jibes from Danny Garcia's father by claiming that he will be the first Pakistani fighter to knock out his son.
Angel Garcia, who trains his son and is known for his occasional eccentric outbursts, criticised Khan's heritage ahead of the British fighter's bout with Danny in Las Vegas on Saturday.
During the pre-fight press conference Angel could be heard saying "his DNA is f**ked up", which prompted the WBA champion to warn his opponent's father.
"I will knock [Garcia] out and if his dad wants it afterwards... That will shut his dad up anyway," Khan said on the podium. "I'm not going to do anything physical because his dad talks so much.
"I'm going to hurt his son. I'm going to do it in the ring. I cannot wait until after the fight, when I've knocked his son out and I'm stood here with the titles.
"Another thing, it's funny when he said he's never seen a Pakistani fight. He's going to see a Pakistani fight on Saturday and knock his son out."
Khan's American opponent has an unbeaten record from 23 fights, 14 of which were won by knock-out.
