Irish middleweight Andy Lee will not have to defend his WBO belt against Peter Quillin after the American failed to make weight for their world title clash.
Lee had been scheduled to make the first defence of the title he won against Matt Korobov in December, but regardless of the result in New York on Saturday night, he won't lose his world crown.
Despite needing to make the 160lbs limit, Quillin weighed in at 161.4lbs, and although he was given an extra two hours to make the weight, he could only get down to 160.6lbs.
Lee could now be in line to face mandatory challenger Billy Joe Saunders in a stadium fight in Dublin or London in the summer.
