Paulie Malignaggi and Zab Judah have reportedly agreed to meet in an all-Brooklyn showdown at the Barclays Center on December 7.
Malignaggi is coming off a contentious points defeat to Adrien Broner in June, while Judah also came up short in his last outing - a spirited losing effort against Danny Garcia.
The 32-year-old has revealed that he has taken the fight with the intention of securing local bragging rights, with big bouts the only thing on his mind at this stage of his career.
He told Boxing Scene: "This is a fight with two fighters from Brooklyn, who made their legacies and their names from Brooklyn.
"Two former world champions and we'll see who is the best Brooklyn fighter of this generation. It's for bragging rights, respect."
American network 'Showtime' will feature the fight as a main event in the first weekend of December on a date originally scheduled for Amir Khan's proposed welterweight showdown with Devon Alexander.
