Floyd Mayweather Jr has indicated that he still plans to retire after his next fight on September 12.
With the pound-for-pound king only two wins away from 50 successive victories, many had believed that the American would compete one more time after his bout in the autumn.
However, the 38-year-old has suggested that he will walk away from the sport after his next appearance in nine weeks' time.
On social media, the world welterweight champion said: "To My fans, your loyalty and support has given me the best 20 years I could ask for and while at the top, I plan to go out on top. See you back in the ring September 12th!"
Mayweather is yet to name his opponent, but Amir Khan and Karim Mayfield are reported to be in the running.
