Floyd Mayweather Jr's father has dismissed suggestions that victory against Manny Pacquiao could see his son line up a clash with either Amir Khan or Kell Brook.

The unbeaten Mayweather will finally square off against Pac-Man at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas on May 2 in a fight that could set a new pay-per-view buy-rate record.

However, an extension of the Grand Rapids fighter's unbeaten record will not set up a showdown with Khan or Brook, according to Floyd Mayweather Sr.

Mayweather Sr told The Mirror: "Khan or Brook? Floyd doesn't need [to fight] those guys. Why would he?

"There is nothing in those fights for him. It is not even in our thoughts. Training is going well and Floyd's right on track. He's in great shape."

Meanwhile, Pacquiao has described the meeting as "historic" at a press conference on Wednesday.
