Floyd Mayweather has revealed that he will face unbeaten Mexican Saul Alvarez in Las Vegas on September 14.
A potential bout between the two fighters has been highly anticipated for several months, with Mayweather claiming that he is "giving the fans what they want".
The American revealed on his official Twitter account: "I chose my opponent for September 14th and it's Canelo Alvarez. I'm giving the fans what they want. It will be at the MGM Grand."
The encounter will be fought at a catchweight of 152 pounds, where both men will put their respective welterweight and junior middleweight world title belts on the line.
Mayweather is undefeated in 44 fights, while Alvarez has won 42 of his 43 professional bouts, with one draw.
