Paul McCloskey has slipped to his second career defeat after being stopped in the 10th round of his bout with DeMarcus Corley.
The 37-year-old American rolled back the years in the opening exchanges of the contest, breaking McCloskey's nose in the second round.
Corley, a former WBO light-welterweight champion, again rocked McCloskey in the third round before the Northern Irishman battled back with steely determination.
However, a heavy right hand in the tenth round forced McCloskey to wobble backwards and he looked unsteady on his feet.
Referee Ian-John Lewis jumped in and waved the fight off to the hometown fighter's dismay.
