WBA super-bantanweight champion Scott Quigg reveals that he is confident of securing a stoppage victory over South African Tshifhiwa Munyai.

WBA super-bantamweight champion Scott Quigg has insisted that the late change of opponent won't stop him producing an impressive display against Tshifhiwa Munyai at the Phones4U Arena on Saturday night.

Quigg's original opponent, Nehomar Cermeno, was forced to withdraw due to visa issues, leaving Munyai to replace the Venezuelan, but while he expects to defeat the South African, the Bury boxer has admitted that he faces a tough examination against the former IBO belt holder.

The 25-year-old told Sky Sports News: "I'm feeling very confident, we had a late change of opponent but things like that happen in boxing. I am 100% prepared for whatever he brings, and I am confident of making it unbeaten in 30 fights.

"It's not ideal, we were preparing for Nehomar Cermeno. All the work was done so we just have to adapt, but it's just part and parcel of boxing. I just have to do what I know I have to do and whatever he brings, I know that I'm going to have an answer. I am going to squat the 'Atomic Spider'.

"I know that he's dangerous, durable, tough and he's ranked number nine in the world. He brings danger. With just over ten days notice, we have had to nail down what he is good at, but I think that we have ticked all the boxes."

Quigg is unbeaten in 29 bouts, while Munyai has 24 wins from 27 professional encounters.
