Representatives of former two-weight world champion Ricky Hatton will reportedly meet with officials from the British Boxing Board of Control during the next 48 hours.
The retired 33-year-old, whose last fight was against Manny Pacquiao in May 2009, rubbished speculation about a possible return to the ring on Sunday.
He tweeted: "Don't you find it strange that it's been in every paper, all over the box, but not on here?
"Don't you think if a comebacks on you'd here it from me? its everywhere and I havnt said or done a single interview.ha ha."
However, despite the denial, the Hatton camp are keen to reinstate his licence and, after holding preliminary talks with the BBBC recently, they plan to hold another meeting early this week, according to the Daily Mail.
Hatton has been tipped to make his professional comeback at the MEN Arena on November 24.
