Tyson Fury has insisted that he stuck to his gameplan following his points victory over Kevin Johnson.
The British heavyweight overcame the American at the Odyssey Arena in Belfast on Saturday night and declared that he fought with his head rather than his heart following the win.
"I didn't let my heart get to me," said Fury.
"I knew that would be a war and I outboxed him. Credit to Kevin - he came over here. I didn't go in there to knock him out, because I knew he was a world-class fighter who makes you miss. He's a slippery, slippery guy."
The victory means that Fury is now just one fight away from becoming the mandatory challenger for Vitali Klitschko's WBC heavyweight title.
