Felix Verdejo Sanchez of Puerto Rico produced a textbook display to beat Panama's Juan Huertas Garcia in the Olympic lightweight tournament.
The Puerto Rican controlled the bout from start to finish and displayed some devastating hand speed throughout.
Huertas looked rather sloppy and was caught square on a number of occasions, while Verdejo punished him to great effect.
The judges scored the contest 11-5 to Verdejo, who sails serenely through to the next round.
