The highly-anticipated interim WBA super-bantamweight title fight between Scott Quigg and Rendall Munroe ended in an anticlimactic technical draw.
Munroe had started brightly and landed two solid right hooks in round one, but Quigg responded well and the bout was finely poised after two rounds.
However, Munroe suffered a large cut above his right eye early in the third as a result of an accidental clash of heads and, with the Leicester fighter's vision impaired by an excess of blood, the doctors called the fight off.
"Life's life, that's how it goes. We are two warriors, we are in the game expecting to get war wounds and that's how it's gone," Munroe told Sky Sports News.
"I haven't seen the cut but I can see the grimaces on people's faces."
Meanwhile, promoter Ricky Hatton has called for a rematch once Munroe's cut has healed.
