Jeff Horn has successfully defended his WBO welterweight title by recording an 11th-round stoppage win over British challenger Gary Corcoran in Brisbane.
After edging out Manny Pacquiao earlier this year, Horn chose Corcoran as a voluntary challenger ahead of an expected showdown with Terence Crawford, and the Australian put in a strong display to see off the Londoner.
While Horn outclassed Corcoran for large parts of the fight, he was unable to shake off his opponent who put in a brave effort and did not stop coming forward against the hometown fighter.
However, Horn was regularly landing big shots and with a bad cut emerging above the eye of Corcoran during the closing stages, his corner opted to throw in the towel in the penultimate round.
Horn is now likely to move on to facing American Crawford in the spring, with that bout expected to take place in Las Vegas.
