British featherweight Lee Selby has earned a shot at the IBF title after stopping Joel Brunker on Saturday night.
Selby was aware that he was facing the biggest test of his professional career, but the Welshman lived up to his reputation to deliver a classy display against the Australian.
After a quiet opening, Selby found his rhythm to dominate his unbeaten opponent, and the bout looked like it was heading for a shutout before the end came in the ninth.
A body shot connected on Brunker, and that allowed Selby to step in to end the fight to take his professional record to 20 wins and one defeat.
Selby will now face the winner of the contest between Evgeny Gradovich and Jayson Velez at some point in the early part of 2015.
