Sports Mole speaks to Scotland boxer Josh Taylor following his victory over Kagiso Bagwasi in the Commonwealth Games.

Scotland boxer Josh Taylor opened his 2014 Commonwealth Games medal challenge with victory over the tricky Kagiso Bagwasi on Saturday evening.

Taylor won silver at Dehli four years ago, but is among the favourites to take gold this time around.

Immediately after the fight, Taylor caught up with Sports Mole to discuss his opening bout.

Congratulations Josh, how much did the home crowd help you during the difficult moments of that fight?
"Oh yeah. I am used to the big crowds now from boxing in the last Games and the London 2012 Olympics as well. I mean that was 10,000 people [London], but this was amazing."

You mention Dehli and the Olympics, do you think those competitions will stand you in a good stead for the remainder of the tournament? There are a number of competitors in your category who cannot match that level of experience.
"Yeah definitely, especially with the big stage and the likes of this stuff, the media, the cameras, all the crowd and all the attention."

Are you confident that you can handle the expectation?
"Yeah 100%. I have a lot of experience now."

How different is the Josh Taylor standing here today to the one that fought in Dehli?
"It is night and day. I mean I am a lot more experienced now. The pressure and the lights and the camera. I have been to European and World Championships as well so I have been to all of the biggest tournaments.

"Last year I got beat in the Europeans in a match which I thought could have gone either way and then it was the same in the World Championships.

"I have lost both the European and World Championships by narrow decisions so I am very confident that I can beat anyone in front of me."

Taylor's next bout is tomorrow afternoon.
