Scotland boxer Reece McFadden has admitted that he had to dig deep to overcome Oteng Oteng in the quarter-finals of the Commonwealth Games on Tuesday.
The flyweight, who has been one of the stories of the Games, booked his spot in the semi-finals with another confident display in Glasgow.
However, the Scot has claimed that a cut to his eye slowed him down in the latter stages.
"The first two fights I was really, really up for it, I was really up for that one, but not as much as the other two. I knew it was going to be a hard fight and it was the hardest one so far," he told Sports Mole.
"When I got cut at the end, I didn't want to come on as fast in case I got cut again. I was trying to protect myself for the last 10 seconds. I deserved the win and I loved it."
McFadden will face Australia's Andrew Maloney in the semi-finals.
