Sports Mole speaks to Team GB boxer Joe Joyce following his victory in the semi-finals of the 2015 European Games.

Team GB boxer Joe Joyce booked his spot in the final of the 2015 European Games with a dominant performance against France's Tony Yoka on Thursday.

Yoka impressed many with his bouts in the lead-up to the last four, but Joyce once again proved too strong as the Brit advanced to the final of the competition.

On Friday, Joyce will attempt to become the first super-heavyweight gold medallist at the inaugural European Games when he meets Russia's Gasan Gimbatov.

It was widely thought that Joyce would face home favourite Mahammadrasul Majidov in the conclusion of the tournament, but the Azerbaijani was forced to withdraw with an eye injury on Wednesday, which saw Gimbatov given a pass to the final.

"Yeah that is what I am here for. I am here to perform and get that gold medal," said Joyce when asked by Sports Mole whether he was a 'man on a mission' in Baku.

The 29-year-old also gave an insight into his tactics for the final against Gimbatov, who at 6'2" is considered short for this particular weight.

"Obviously I will go over his video analysis and see what tactics I need to use," he added. "If he is shorter then he is going to be slipping my jabs and trying to wing one over the top, which they all do, so it will be a case of blocking it, returning it and then going to work as usual."

Joyce also revealed that his preparations for the final will include "a recovery shake" and possibly a spell on the computer.

"I will get back and have my recovery shake, then a warm down and a stretch. I am a bit of a gamer so that could be on the cards, or maybe a film."

Joyce won gold at the 2014 Commonwealth Games.
