Team GB's boxing coach Rob McCracken has revealed that IBF super-middleweight world champion Carl Froch has given advice to the British fighters, and even sparred with them.
Froch, who is also trained by McCracken, beat Canadian Lucien Bute in May to become world champion for the third time.
The 35-year-old from Nottingham has been training, running with and giving advice to the likes of Tom Stalker and Anthony Ogogo.
"He trains with the squad," revealed McCracken. "He joins in some sessions and he spars with some of them.
"It is great for his speed and tempo, and it is great for them to do three or four rounds with him, he gets them to where they need to be. He has rubbed off on them a lot, and in some ways they have rubbed off on him as well.
"I know he is coming down to London and is really keen to see them do well, because they are his friends now. Hopefully they can push on and get the medals they deserve."
Ogogo, a middleweight from Suffolk, got Team GB off to a great start with a win over Junior Castillo Martinez yesterday.
