Uzbek middleweight Abbos Atoev has beaten India's Vijender Singh for a place in the semi-final of the Olympics.
The fighters could not be separated after the first round, which finished 3-3. However, Vijender came on strong in the early exchanges of the second.
The Indian was beginning to land some decent scoring blows and working well behind his stiff jab.
Despite seemingly landing the bulk of the shots, Vijender found himself trailing by two points as they entered the final three minutes.
That forced the Indian to attack furiously in the final round, while Atoev was content to clinch in order to see out victory.
The Uzbek was backpedaling while Vijender stalked him around the ring, winding up with big right hands. That mean that he walked onto a few shots as he threw caution to the wind.
The time ebbed away and Atoev held on for a 17-13 win.
