David Warner admits that the atmosphere generated by supporters at Edgbaston has ensured that Australia's players "feel that little bit of pressure" when they step up.

David Warner has admitted that he and his teammates have struggled to deal with the atmosphere generated by supporters at Edgbaston.

The Australia batsman offered a rare glimmer of hope on an otherwise grim day for the tourists, as they saw the third Ashes Test swing in England's favour on Thursday.

Mitchell Johnson in particular came in for raucous treatment from home spectators, reaching a second-innings score of just 14, which Warner admits had an effect on the outcome.

"It is hard," he is quoted as saying by The Telegraph. "I don't know what it's like as an incoming batsman, but you do feel that pressure in yourself, that little bit of pressure.

"Look at the football. The crowds are behind the home teams, you hear the songs and chants, and you actually come over here and the crowds are singing, they're obviously behind the English. It's helpful [to England], especially when they've got their tails up."

Peter Nevill and Mitchell Starc will resume out in the middle for Australia when play gets back underway at 11am on Friday morning.
