Australia fast bowler Mitchell Starc has insisted that his side can still win the third Ashes Test, despite Kevin Pietersen's century ensuring that England will continue their first innings on day four.

Starc said that, despite only 14 wickets having fallen so far, the pitch is showing signs of wear and that there is still time left for an Australia win.

"I think things are going to happen pretty quickly on the last two days," Starc told Sky Sports News.

"It's showing signs of more and more turn and it's only going to turn more heading into the end of the Test.

"Things are going to happen quickly in the third and fourth innings but there's a few wickets to get yet, but we're up for the challenge."

Both day four and five are expected to be interrupted by rain.
