Australia captain Michael Clarke has confirmed that he will play in the four-day practice match against Pakistan A, which gets underway tomorrow, in a bid to prove his fitness for the upcoming Test series.

The 33-year-old has not played since he suffered a hamstring injury during a one-day international against Zimbabwe back in August.

It was expected that he would miss the two-Test series against Pakistan, but the batsman is determined to show that he is fit enough for selection.

"I feel a lot better now than I did after Zimbabwe when I tore my hamstring. I'll be playing tomorrow in the four-day practice match. I'm just trying to take every single step along the way, and listen to the experts," Clarke told reporters.

All-rounder Mitchell Marsh will also feature in the match, having recently recovered from a hamstring problem of his own.
