John Hastings has agreed to join Durham during the summer as an overseas player.
The all-rounder, who has represented Australia 15 times across all formats of the game, will take the place of Hampshire-bound Dale Benkenstein in the squad.
"We are excited. He is skilful with the ball and can also contribute well with the bat," said Durham coach Jon Lewis. "He will be a strong addition with the red and white ball and we look forward to welcoming him to Durham."
Hastings will arrive at Chester-le-Street following the conclusion of the Indian Premier League.
