Nathan Lyon has insisted that he would still like to play one-day internationals for Australia.
The 27-year-old off-spinner, who is a regular in the Test team, has only made eight appearances in the 50-over format of the game.
However, Lyon has stressed that he has not given up hope of forcing his way into the limited-overs side on a more regular basis.
"I'm wondering why I don't get picked, too. I definitely haven't given up and I haven't retired from one-day cricket, that's for sure," he told Fairfax.
"I want to play all three formats of cricket for Australia, that's my goal, so I have to keep putting my hand up for selection and doing what I can to achieve that. It's out of my hands, it's up to the selectors and I know all I can do is control my performance and my work ethic."
In his eight ODI outings to date, Lyon has claimed 11 wickets at an average of 30.
