A knock of 96 runs from Glenn Maxwell helped Australia to open up an unassailable 3-0 one-day international series lead against India at the Melbourne Cricket Ground this afternoon.
Having lost the toss and been put into bat first, the touring Indians reached 295-6 from their 50 overs.
Virat Kohil was the pick of the India batsmen thanks to his run-a-ball 117 before he was caught by Maxwell off the bowling of John Hastings.
However, having successfully chased down 309 and 310 in the previous two clashes between the duo, the Aussies went on to record a third straight victory.
Maxwell's contribution came from 83 deliveries, while captain Steve Smith (41) and Shaun Marsh (62) helped the home side to reach their target with three wickets and seven balls to spare.
The fourth encounter of the five-match series will be played in Canberra on Wednesday.
